John Christopher Foulkes was born on 25th November 1935 in Mount St, Preston,
Lancashire. The middle of three brothers, he attended St Cuthbert's Primary
School, Blackpool and Ushaw College, Durham.
He was ordained as a priest in the Diocese of Lancaster at St Peter's
Cathedral in June 1960. He served at St Mary's , Fleetwood, Christ the King,
Carlisle and Sacred Heart, Barrow.
He attended West Hill College, Birmingham for 12 months and left with
qualifications in Youth, Community and Social Work. He was appointed director of
Castlerigg Manor, Roman Catholic Youth Centre, Keswick where he worked from 1971
- 1981.
In 1981 he became Parish Priest at St Kentigern's, Newton Drive, Blackpool.
His hobbies are travel, cooking, fine wines and Information Technology. His
brother, Peter, is also a Parish Priest.
