Welcome to the St Kentigern's Parish Website
RSS RSS is an easy way for you to keep updated automatically on websites you like. Instead of you having to go to websites to see if they've written a new article or feature, you can use RSS (which stands for Really Simple Syndication) to get them to tell you every time they have something new. In general you need to get hold of a program called a News Reader. This displays RSS information feeds from your chosen websites on your computer. All you then have to do is choose which RSS feeds you want for instance, an the RSS feed below which delivers the latest Parish news and events. Follow the instructions in your choosen client on how to make use of it. There are a range of different News Readers available sucha as KlipFolio below; try using Google to find links to the most popular products, many of which are free to install.
Different News Readers work on different operating systems, so you will need to take this into account when you make your choice. Serence KlipFolio is a free information awareness and notification application for Windows. It's quick to install and easy to use. KlipFolio lets you configure and monitor a wide variety of real-time information services on your desktop--like weather, stocks, breaking news, RSS feeds and auctions. These information services are called Klips, and there are hundreds of them available at KlipFarm. This website features a "Klip" to use in KlipFolio to display the latest parish news and events as seen below. To download the Klip, first download the KlipFolio application from http://www.serence.com and then right click the Klip icon at the bottom of this page and select "Save Target As" to download the Klip.
